Accidents and Sickness

There is always a teacher on duty during interval and lunch time. Every care is taken to minimise the possibility of accidents occurring to pupils while at school. Despite such care, accidents do happen.

Minor injuries or sickness are treated in the school Health room. If necessary, parents are informed immediately. For reasons listed above, accurate information on telephone numbers and emergency phone numbers are important.

Health Care Services

The Auckland Area Health Board screens students for hearing and vision each term. If there is a problem you will get a letter about this.
Community Nurses visit the school regularly and work with families as needed.

Medicines

If your child has nay medicines that need to be administered during the school day, they must bring it to the school office with their name clearly labelled and the amount needed. The office staff will administer it and store the medicine in the office. It is yours and your child’s responsibility to ensure the medicine is taken home each day.

Mobile Dental Clinic

We have a Dental Nurse who visits our school once a year to check all pupils’ teeth. If your child has any urgent problems, please telephone 09 570 4305 or 09 570 9783 between 9.00am – 3.00pm for an appointment at the Pt. England School Clinic.
